Quality
Participant protection. Reliable evidence. Clear accountability.
Quality in clinical research is established through qualified people, proportionate controls and traceable decisions throughout the study lifecycle.
Discuss your studyStart with the factors that matter
Identify what could affect participant safety, consent, primary outcomes or the reliability of the study. Use that assessment to decide where training, monitoring and review need the most attention. Quality planning should begin with protocol design and site feasibility, rather than with a final document check.
Define responsibilities before work starts
Written agreements should identify the sponsor, investigator, institution and service-provider activities. Under ICH E6(R3), transferring activities to a service provider does not transfer the sponsor's ultimate responsibility. Investigator oversight also remains essential when site activities are delegated.
- Named owners and escalation contacts
- Scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria
- Training and access appropriate to each role
- Oversight of any approved subcontracted activities
Use monitoring to resolve risks
A study monitoring plan should explain which checks are needed, where they occur and how findings are followed to resolution. On-site, remote and centralized methods should be selected for the protocol and authorized access arrangements. Monitoring does not replace independent audit, investigator oversight or authority inspection.
Keep records usable and traceable
Agree document versions, review status, access, corrections, reconciliation and retention before collecting data. Preserve the evidence behind key decisions and make the records available to authorized reviewers. An essential-document service is distinct from providing a validated electronic platform.
Respond to issues with documented action
For a significant issue, assess participant and data impact, identify the cause, assign corrective action and verify completion. Decide whether preventive changes are needed elsewhere. Follow the applicable reporting route for serious noncompliance and safety events.
Standards and due diligence
ICH E6(R3) Principles and Annex 1 were adopted in 2025; Annex 2 reached Step 4 on 3 June 2026 and addresses decentralized and pragmatic elements and real-world data. These are international GCP references, not evidence of automatic adoption in Nepal or a certification of this company. NHRC's 2022 guidance requires GCP training for clinical-trial researchers. Before contracting, request the actual procedures, qualifications, training records, systems and oversight evidence relevant to the proposed work. No accreditation, inspection history or established quality system is claimed without verification.
